Handcrafted to PerfectionWhen a customer purchases a piece of Belleek China they become the owner of a truly original piece of Irish craftsmanship, made using materials and techniques handed down from generation to generation. No two pieces are ever the same. Every handle, flower and brush stroke is lovingly applied by hand to create the look and feel that is uniquely Belleek. This reputation has been built on product excellence. Only Belleek of the highest quality is ever put on sale. Back in 1857, the pottery's founder, John Caldwell Bloomfield declared that any piece with even the slightest flaw should be destroyed. More than 140 years later, this golden rule is still strictly adhered to. The result, is perfection. Belleek Pottery is a member of one of the most prestigious giftware groups which also includes world renowned Aynsley China and Galway Irish Crystal.
TrademarksAll Belleek marks, with minor exceptions, include symbols which are unmistakably Irish, i.e. the Irish Wolfhound with the head turned to face one of Ireland's distinctive round towers - the model for which is believed to have been Devenish Round Tower on the Lower Lough Erne's Devenish Island. The Irish harp and two sprigs of shamrock border the ends of a banner at the base of the design which carries the single word BELLEEK in capital letters.
The years given denote the approximate date of production.
