Three Handle Cup
New for March 2007 MSRP: $ Sale Price: $ 122.50 Style #: B0095 Size: 3-3/4"H Edition: 1,000 Qty available as of 18:59 EST on 12-03: 1* Click Here To Purchase This rare piece was designed sometime within the second period between 1891 and 1926. Possibly made as a test piece, it has never featured in any of Belleek's catalogues. The ancient Greeks made three-handled vessels, called Hydria, designed to carry water from wells. Presumably three handles made it easier for two people to carry these containers. Three-handled cups, based on Greek designs, came into vogue in the early part of the 2Oth Century as fashionable decorative pieces. It is likely that Belleek followed this trend, adding its distinctive Irish flavor. |

Belleek's Robert Armstrong patented these designs, which were eventually registered on September 6, 1868. The Echinus Footed Bowl was produced up until the 1920's, retired, and then reintroduced in the 1950's. Again, it was retired in the 1970's and remained in the archives until this anniversary year. |

It remained quite popular throughout the following 60 years until its retirement in 1980. |

Round Tower Centerpiece
New for March 2007 Price: $ 375.00 Style #: B0929 Size: 8-1/2" H Edition: 800 As of 18:59 EST on 12-03, this item is in stock.* Click Here To Purchase It is believed that the Round Tower Centerpiece was designed in the latter part of the 19th Century. Based on the Belleek trademark, this unusual item may have been created originally as an exhibition piece, as it is not shown in any early catalogues. The Centerpiece was rediscovered in the early 1980's when a collector returned a copy to the Pottery. Head modeller Hugh Gallagher subsequently uncovered all of the mould parts and produced but a handful of pieces. A limited edition of 800 pieces are now being reintroduced in celebration of the 150th anniversary. |

Dolphin Candlestick
New for March 2007 MSRP: $ Sale Price: $ 276.50 Style #: B0941 Size: 8"H Edition: 400 Qty available as of 18:59 EST on 12-03: 1* Click Here To Purchase The Dolphin Candlestick is fashioned in the style known as cherub or "Putti" figurines, popular in the 1860's. Uncovered in Belleek's master mould archive, this piece is numbered "125," indicating that it was, most likely, designed around 1868. It is listed as one of the many pieces displayed at the Paris Exhibition in 1900. By the 1920's it had been discontinued, and remained in the archives for the following 60 years, making a brief appearance in the early 1980's. |

Pottery Scene Plate
New for March 2007 Price: $ 75.00 Style #: B1151 Size: 8" Diameter Edition: 2,000 As of 18:59 EST on 12-03, this item is in stock.* Click Here To Purchase The scene on this collector plate is borrowed from an engraved print that originally graced Belleek Earthenware teapot stands. It depicts a view from the grounds of Johnson's Hotel, now the Hotel Carlton. Over the years, the landscape has changed dramatically, including the removal of flagstones along the river from which the name Belleek is derived (Gaelic "beal atha leice," which literally means the mouth of the ford of flagstones). The bridge built in the 17th Century by the Caldwell's was replaced in the 1950's with a new one. The Belleek Pottery has undergone changes, as well, with its bottle kilns being replaced by electric ones in the 1960's. However the engraving's focal point, the Pottery itself; built by Robert Armstrong, remains the dominant feature of the landscape today. |

The Celtic Teapot was part of a larger tea set that was only produced for a limited period of time, with very few ever made. |
