Lladro, the premier porcelain figurine from Spain, has grown to become one of the true Guild Collectibles in today's market. Beginning in 1951, the Lladro brothers, Juan, Jose and Vincente, began what would become an instution in producing fine porcelain. Still run by the Lladro family, the collection continues to grow with Collectors. From these pages, you can join the Lladro Society, and view more than 600 pictures of the Lladro Figurine collection and more than 170 pictures of the Lladro Gres collection. The Lladró Gres Collection The Lladró Gres Collection draws its inspiration from the colours of the earth, which provide vigour, warmth and richness. Unlike porcelain whose multiple hues are derived from colours contained in a solution, gres uses glaze deposits on the surface of the piece. When subjected to high temperatures, these glazes never crystallize in an identical manner, showing slightly different chromatic effects which, to a certain point, are unforseeable. This makes each gres piece in the collection a unique and unrepeatable creation. Re-Deco starts out with a white porcelain figurine, glossy or matte, and decorates it in platinum colour to contribute to the sophistication of the work, not in terms of shape or color, but thanks to a neutralization phenomenon which undresses the sculpture to show all its qualities.
